Project Summary for NHB Electrical’s Role in Extraction Systems and Fire-Rated Ductwork at 250 City Road

NHB Electrical is a key partner in the transformation of 250 City Road, a prominent mixed-use development between Angel and Old Street Stations. This project, led by Berkeley Group and designed by Foster + Partners, is reshaping a former 1980s business park into a vibrant, high-density residential and commercial community, including residential towers of 42 and 36 stories, retail and office space, a hotel, and extensive leisure amenities.

Our involvement focuses on the design and installation of advanced extraction systems and fire-rated ductwork on the building’s rooftops. These installations are essential for maintaining safe, efficient airflow and ensuring fire safety in a high-rise environment, particularly in light of the project’s large residential and commercial volumes. NHB Electrical’s extraction solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly with the building’s unique architectural features, supporting air quality while aligning with the site’s stringent safety and aesthetic standards.

Located within a prime regeneration zone in Islington, this project is set to become a landmark in East London. Our fire-rated ductwork provides critical support in this dense urban setting, offering enhanced fire resilience across multi-story spaces. By working alongside renowned architects and builders, NHB Electrical is contributing to the safety, functionality, and success of one of London’s most ambitious developments.

Below are some great examples of our ductwork installations and other key components of the project.
